Understand the two compartments

Irumudi is a two-part bundle. The front is associated with offerings; the rear carries the other provisions arranged according to the group’s custom. Keep the offering materials clean and distinguish them from ordinary luggage.

Preparation sequence

  • Confirm the group’s material list, quantities and time of worship.
  • Prepare the clean Irumudi bag and the offerings under guidance.
  • Take part in the pooja and filling of the ghee coconut.
  • Arrange the compartments and tie the bundle as your Guruswamy directs.
  • Receive and carry the Irumudi respectfully, keeping the group’s instructions in mind.

Neythenga and the offering

Neythenga is the ghee-filled coconut carried for Neyyabhishekam. Ask your guide how to prepare, fill and close it. The condition of the coconut and clean handling matter; a generic shop kit is not a substitute for checking the materials.

Before departure

Keep travel documents, drinking water and necessary personal items accessible separately. Confirm the return plan and arrangements for the group.
