Temple Padi Pooja
The official Sabarimala pooja description associates Padi Pooja with worship of the eighteen holy steps on selected days. It is a temple ritual performed under the temple’s ritual authority. Confirm availability and booking through the official channels.
Household and group observances
Groups may conduct a Padi Pooja with a representation of the steps, lamps, flowers and devotional singing. Ask the officiating priest or Guruswamy for the materials and procedure used in that tradition; do not assume that it reproduces the temple ritual.
Understanding the steps
Different teachings explain the eighteen steps in different ways. Learn the chosen interpretation with its source, and keep those meanings separate from the regional annual titles of pilgrims.
